mindfulness

Mindfulness helps to create a safe space inside, a haven to return to when life becomes rocky and a place of stillness we can source from to bring ourselves back into balance.

WHAT IS EMBODIED MINDFULNESS?

Mindfulness is a way of being present to the moment, including our own thoughts and feelings as they arise, without judgement. There are many different types of mindfulness and the foundational practices are easy to learn and apply in everyday life. These simple practices not only teach us how to reset our nervous system and manage acute stress and overwhelm, but over time, we get to know ourselves better.

When we practice mindfulness, we feel more connected, more alive and more present with ourselves and with others. In witnessing our thoughts, habitual thinking patterns and reactions, we come to know the nature and inner workings of our minds and how we might live with more awareness and intention rather than unconsciously repeating old habits. We also learn how to acknowledge, accept and turn towards our feelings and long held emotions with compassion, tenderly holding those parts of ourselves that feel difficult to connect with or that we were simply unaware of. It is a gentle, somatic and embodied practice, meaning we connect consciously with our breath and with sensations in the body, slowly and softly opening the door to greater awareness, connection, healing and growth.

Revitalise your life with profound insight

what you'll discover

1

Create an Inner Sanctuary

In times of difficulty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed as external pressures become mirrored in our own internal worlds. Establishing a sense of calm and safety within provides us with a haven to return to when life becomes rocky, and a place of stillness we can source from, to bring ourselves back into balance. With simple foundational mindfulness practices, begin to create your own inner sanctuary of peace, connection and presence. Explore methods to identify and address emotional triggers, understand your brain's response to acute stress (Amygdala Hijack), and employ simple breathing techniques to reset your nervous system and bring clarity and calm to both mind and body.

2

Overcoming Worry & Self Doubt

For many of us, worry and self-critical thoughts often spiral into repetitive patterns, triggering difficult emotions, impacting our sleep, our sense of safety and our ability to function effectively at work and at home. In these moments we may disconnect from ourselves and our surroundings, our thoughts fuelling anxiety and self-doubt. Recognising and addressing the patterns that send us off into rumination and speculation, frees us from being unconsciously driven by old habits as we navigate life’s painful experiences. We are then able to connect more deeply with ourselves and with the present moment, allowing us to appreciate what is beautiful in our lives and savour positive experiences in the moment.

3

Foster Emotional Awareness/Intelligence

When we are suddenly faced with an unpleasant situation, or an uncomfortable feeling arises in our body, we often react unconsciously out of habit, stuck in patterns that may have originally developed as coping mechanisms but may no longer be supportive. We may also find ourselves suppressing, ignoring or distracting ourselves from uncomfortable situations and feelings. Learn how mindfulness encourages us to acknowledge our triggers, turn towards our feelings and remain present with ourselves during difficult moments. Rather than reacting unconsciously from our unhealed wounds, gentle mindfulness practices allow us to slowly befriend our feelings, and over time, respond with presence, awareness and compassion.

4

Respond with Self-Compassion & Empathy

When we’re moving through a difficult experience, we often feel alone or inadequate in some way. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and recognising our shared human experience helps us to develop compassion and true connection with ourselves and with others. Explore what lies beneath common happiness myths and how mindfulness cultivates a deeper sense of fulfilment and wellbeing that is able to withstand life’s changing circumstances. Feel into the natural sense of gratitude that arises when we practice mindfulness, reducing stress, enhancing immune function and alleviating depressive symptoms. Seamlessly integrate mindfulness into your daily life to energise your life and support you through difficult times.
